R&E has represented The Durst Organization since 1987 and has managed its complex and high-profile transactions, including a joint venture with Bank of America to construct One Bryant Park, a 51-story tower which serves as the bank’s investment banking headquarters. Additionally, the firm negotiated the joint venture between The Durst Organization and the Port Authority to build and lease One World Trade Center.
The Firm also represents many of New York’s not-for-profit organizations including the YMCA of Greater New York, Volunteers of America, the Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Hall, Cornell University and the New Museum.

Our Pro Bono Department provides legal services and aid to those in need, and we are proud to partner with pro bono organizations within our community to make a difference for those who truly need assistance.
R&E and our employees maintain an ongoing commitment to charitable work, and are regularly involved with programs that focus on giving back to the youth in New York. Managing Member, Luise A. Barrack, exemplifies this with her continued support and involvement with the YMCA’s Teen Career Connection Summer Internship Program, which provides teens from low-income communities the opportunity to work in professional environments and to have access to professional development and career training.
R&E supports additional programs and organizations including PENCIL Fellows Program, Volunteers of America and New York Cares. PENCIL is a program that trains and places high need students in professional internships with businesses around New York. The program provides professional training to students and gives them valuable experience in a professional setting. Operation Backpack, sponsored by Volunteers of America Greater New York, is a back-to-school drive that collects and distributes new backpacks full of grade-specific supplies to the thousands of homeless children living in New York City homeless and domestic violence shelters. New York Cares Winter Wishes helps to supply holiday toys and gifts to underserved children and families.

On March 21, 2019, Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. was recognized by the New York City Bar’s Environmental Law Committee for our efforts in reducing our environmental footprint. The Firm’s recent participation in New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s Commercial Tenant Program is a testament to our commitment to reducing energy consumption, making the business case for energy efficient workspaces and setting the example for other law firms to follow.
