Arthur C. Silverman
to lead firm’s newly established
Construction Department

Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., a leading New York City real estate law firm, announced that Arthur C. Silverman has joined the firm as a Member and head of its newly established Construction Department.

The addition of Silverman and the establishment of a Construction Department demonstrates Rosenberg & Estis‘ commitment to continued growth and its ongoing efforts to provide for its clients comprehensive legal representation across all aspects of real estate.

Silverman brings a wealth of experience in construction law to Rosenberg & Estis. He has previously represented fund managers, private equity investors, engineers, trade contractors, program and construction managers, private owners, and institutional owners. Silverman has extensive experience with contract negotiation and drafting for complex projects, development agreements, design/build agreements, trade contracts, and design/construct provisions in leases of build-to-suit structures and premises.

Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Silverman was a partner with Duane Morris LLP, where he represented owners and developers on numerous projects, including the September 11 World Trade Center Memorial and Museum, the new Barbara Walters Campus Center at Sarah Lawrence College, the JetBlue Terminal at JFK Airport, City Point in Brooklyn, and the new Milstein Teaching and Learning Center at Barnard College. Mr. Silverman also represented the artisanal food brand Eataly at 200 Fifth Avenue, a landmarked building in New York City, at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Prudential Center in Boston, and Century City in Los Angeles.

For the American Bar Association, Mr. Silverman has served as a member of the Forum on the Construction Industry, as a member of the Committee on Construction Litigation, in the Committee on Design and Construction, in the Section on Real Property, and in the Section of Business Law. For the New York State Bar Association, he served as a member of the sections on dispute resolution, torts, real estate, and insurance. He is a member of the Committee of Construction Law for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is an associate member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, a professional member of the Construction Specifications Institute, and a member of the Federal Bar Council.

Chambers: America’s Leading Lawyers from 2008 to 2017 lists Mr. Silverman as a leading construction lawyer in New York, quoting industry leaders who have said Silverman is “brilliant but also knows you need to get these agreements done so that people will actually sign them,” and that Silverman is “one of the deans of the New York construction bar” and is extremely experienced in the area, a “big picture person.” Mr. Silverman has been listed in US News/Best Lawyers “The Best Lawyers in America,” 2007-2018 (Construction Law), in New York Super Lawyers from 2006 through 2017, and has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell for more than 35 years. He has been featured in Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.

Mr. Silverman received his Juris Doctor from the Columbia University School of Law, and received Bachelor of Sciences degrees in Engineering and Industrial Management from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
