Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. announced that Bradley Silverbush received the Robert Colangelo Man of the Year Award from the American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement. This is the first time the organization has bestowed its top honor on a civilian. Silverbush, a partner with the law firm, is serving his second term as counsel for the organization.
AAPLE selected Silverbush for the award to honor his efforts throughout 2010 in working with the organization to assist needy children. He received the Robert Colangelo Man of the Year Award from AAPLE during its Annual Scholarship Cruise on June 30 about the cruise ship Atlantica.
Formed in 1974, AAPLE is composed of current and former members from city, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The award is named in honor for Robert Colangelo, past president of the organization and former chief of detectives for the New York City Department of Police. Colangelo assumed the reins as president of the organization in 1985. Through his dedicated work and strong commitment to quality, Colangelo was successful in revitalizing AAPLE, rapidly expanding its membership and activities. His efforts were memorialized with the Robert Colangelo Man of the Year
Award, which is bestowed on an AAPLE member who epitomizes Colangelo’s ideals and commitment.
Silverbush, 55, specializes in all aspects of landlord-tenant litigation for Rosenberg & Estis, including cases involving premises used for illegal purposes, such as the sale or manufacture of counterfeit goods, narcotics, prostitution and gambling. “It is an honor to be the first civilian member of AAPLE to receive this prestigious award,” said Silverbush. “It has been my privilege over the past two years as counsel to
the organization to offer my legal advise and services in an effort to help advance the goals of the organization.”
Silverbush has worked closely with the Special Projects Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s office on cases involving the Narcotics Eviction Program, where he was involved in the return of hundreds of residential and commercial premises to law-abiding citizens. He also maintains an active trial calendar, representing owners in a variety of matters.
Silverbush is a member of the New York County Lawyer’s Association, the City Bar and the Jewish Lawyer’s Guild.
