Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., a leading New York City real estate law firm, has named Michael C. Castellon a member. He will head the firm’s Construction Litigation practice group.

Castellon joined Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. in 2019 and has more than 30 years of experience in real estate law. He has represented developers, public and private owners, institutions, public housing authorities and suppliers in the commercial, residential, manufacturing and energy industries, and has successfully resolved disputes and negotiated and drafted all types of construction-related agreements.

Prior to Rosenberg & Estis, Castellon served as General Counsel of the Skanska/Walsh Joint Venture, the designer-builder of the LaGuardia Airport Terminal B Redevelopment Project, the largest PPP airport redevelopment project to date. In his role there, he prepared and negotiated hundreds of subcontractors, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, negotiated and altered change orders and resolved a variety of work claims and disputes. He also served as the North American corporate counsel for a French subway designer and builder, corporate counsel for an Austrian hydro-turbine designer, and prior to shifting to in-house roles, was a partner with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan and a shareholder at the construction law boutique firm Griffin Cochrane and Marshall.

“We are excited about Michael Castellon’s transition into a leadership role at Rosenberg & Estis,” said managing member Michael E. Lefkowitz. “His deep experience in all aspects of construction will benefit our clients while further expanding the capabilities of our construction litigation group.”

Rosenberg & Estis has continued to enhance its services to provide comprehensive solutions across the entire real estate lifecycle,” said founding member Gary Rosenberg. “Michael’s ability to manage complex construction litigation issues will be an asset to the firm and to our clients.”

Rosenberg & Estis has five decades’ experience providing legal services in real estate transactions, administrative law and rent regulations, litigation, cooperative and condominiums, tax incentives and affordable housing. In the past several years, Rosenberg & Estis has added departments in construction, zoning, property tax/certiorari and reorganization and bankruptcy. Construction litigation is one of the firm’s fastest growing practice groups.
