On February 7, 2025, R&E Members Zachary J. Rothken and Anthony J. Virga attended the Small Property Owners of New York, Inc. (SPONY) 40th Anniversary Reception, which honored the founders of SPONY, Jimmy Silber and Frank Riccio. The evening was a tremendous success, celebrating four decades of SPONY’s dedication to small housing providers in New York.

Founded in 1984, SPONY is a nonprofit volunteer organization representing small housing providers, many of whom are multi-generational family-owned businesses. These businesses often have owners’ families living alongside tenants, fostering deep community connections. SPONY’s strong community roots make it uniquely positioned to meet the housing needs of the neighborhoods it serves.
