R&E member Daniel M. Bernstein was the introductory speaker at a CLE titled, “Current Issues in Affordable Housing in New York City.” The program provided listeners with an inside perspective on the future of affordable housing, as seasoned practitioners from the private and public sectors discussed the role of the city, state and federal governments, in conjunction with for-profit developers and not-for-profit organizations, in building and preserving affordable housing. Attendees gained insight to the continuing evolution of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the fundamentals of Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) transactions and the impact of opportunity zone legislation on affordable housing.
