The law firm of Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. announced the promotion of five attorneys. Jason R. Davidson, Eric S. Orenstein, and Deborah E. Riegel have been named equity members of the firm, while and Adam R. Sanders will become members of the firm.
“We are pleased to continue a period of controlled growth within the firm, from the addition of new attorneys, to the expansion of the executive leadership,” said firm founder, Gary Rosenberg. “By focusing exclusively on real estate, we have been able to provide a superior level of service to the real estate industry in New York City.”
“All of these attorneys have distinguished themselves through their expertise in a wide variety of complex matters and emerging practice areas,” said Luise A. Barrack, Managing Member of Rosenberg & Estis and the head of its Litigation Department. “Their experience and skills provide a valuable asset to our clients, and we are delighted to have promoted them within the firm.”
Jason R. Davidson joined Rosenberg & Estis in 2003 and became a member in the firm’s Litigation Department in 2008. Mr. Davidson’s practice involves commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters, contract and lease disputes, and complex real estate and construction litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Davidson has litigated cases in Federal District Court and in New York State trial and appellate courts, including the New York State Court of Appeals. Mr. Davidson has also represented clients before various New York City administrative agencies, including the Environmental Control Board, the New York City Loft Board, and the Office of Administrative Trial and Hearings relating to issues arising out of Multiple Dwelling Law Article 7-C (the “Loft Law”). Mr. Davidson received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and earned his J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law, where he was a participant in the International Human Rights Law Clinic and the international studies program at the University of Chile School of Law.

Mr. Orenstein represents owners and developers of commercial properties in the tri-state New York area, providing his legal expertise in all aspects of real estate including leasing, development, and purchase and sale transactions. Additionally, Mr. Orenstein has a national lending practice, representing numerous lenders including one of the most active EB-5 lenders in the country, positioning him at the forefront of the EB-5 market. Mr. Orenstein’s close interaction with his clients and assistance in evaluating his clients’ deals from their inception has allowed him to develop an understanding of all the issues concerning commercial real estate from both a legal and business prospective. Mr. Orenstein received his bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
Deborah E. Riegel joined Rosenberg & Estis in 1994 and became a member in the firm’s Litigation Department in 2000. An experienced trial lawyer, Ms. Riegel’s practice is primarily focused on litigation. However, Ms. Riegel also works with clients on development issues, such as assemblage, and has successfully vacated a number of development sites in Manhattan. Ms. Riegel also works with clients — with the support of the firm’s highly experienced Transactional Department — on purchase and sale agreements, leasing and construction management, providing a one-stop, integrated approach to clients’ legal needs with an eye toward risk management and early dispute resolution. Ms. Riegel received her bachelor’s degree from Queens College of the City University of New York and earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she currently serves as a member of the faculty. Ms. Riegel also serves on the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Board as well as the New York Board of Jewish National Fund. Ms. Riegel is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Sanders received his bachelor’s degree from University of Pennsylvania and earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
“These five attorneys have distinguished themselves by successfully representing clients in a wide variety of complex matters,” said Michael Lefkowitz, co-chair of Rosenberg & Estis‘ Transaction Department. “These attorneys are recognized for their expertise, and they will provide a valuable resource to businesses seeking to navigate both the national and New York City real estate landscapes.
“Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., which celebrated its 42nd anniversary this past year, continues to grow both in size and in the breadth of work it handles. The real estate boutique law firm has steadily expanded its roster from 45 attorneys in 2010 to over 80 attorneys today, making it New York’s largest real estate law firm. It has also increased its presence in New York’s development arena, assisting its clients with complex projects and new developments in challenging markets.
