R&E takes home top prize in the Social Responsibility category for their ongoing community and environmental work

Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., has been awarded the 2016 Commercial Real Estate Award for Social Responsibility by National Real Estate Investor/Informational Management Network. The award, which was announced yesterday, highlights the many community and environmental initiatives the firm has undertaken during the last year.
Over the past year, R&E and its employees have taken steps to improve both the environment and the greater New York community. This includes exchanging light switches for motion detectors, initiating a composting and recycling program, and launching the massive undertaking of going paperless by digitalizing its external and internal paper flow. These initiatives have made an immediate impact, and R&E is
committed to continuing to find new and innovative ways to go green.
“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to enhance sustainability in our operation,” said Luise A. Barrack, Managing Member. “The changes we have implemented have already had a significant impact and we are committed to continuing to find new ways to reduce our environmental footprint in the months and years to come.”
In addition to green initiatives, R&E and its employees have shown an ongoing commitment to charity work and other programs. Most of the programs R&E is involved with focus on giving back to New York youth. R&E and Barrack have continued to support the YMCA of Greater New York and the YMCA’s Teen Career Connection Summer Internship Program, which provides teens from low-income communities the opportunity to work in professional environments they typically would not have access to and allows the teens to have access to professional development and career training. Barrack has been involved with this and the YMCA’s various outreach programs for a number of years and currently serves on the 2016 Leadership Council of the YMCA’s Development Committee
“Our participation with the YMCA, and the interns we have met through the program, have inspired the firm,” said Barrack. “Attorneys who have worked with the interns have enthusiastically endorsed the benefits of the program to both the interns and R&E as a whole.”
In addition to the YMCA, R&E has been a proud supporter of two other organizations, PENCIL and New York Cares Winter Wishes. PENCIL is a program that trains and places high need students in professional internships with businesses around New York. The program provides professional training to students and gives them valuable experience in a professional setting. New York Cares Winter Wishes helps to provide holiday toys and gifts to underserved children and families. In 2015, R&E was able to fulfill the wishes of 67 children by providing gifts and other supplies to the children and their families.
