Neil Dwork Provides Insight on Rent Regulated Property to Industry Group Neil C. Dwork, member, Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., recently provided his legal expertise to an industry seminar on rent regulated property. Mr. Dwork served as a panelist on a joint New York County Lawyers’ Association and Rent Stabilization Association event entitled Rent Regulated Property: Navigating Housing Court. The seminar was
moderated by Mitchell Posilkin, General Counsel of RSA, and Robin Bernstein, Deputy Counsel of RSA. The seminar focused on procedures for commencing and litigating summary non-payment and holdover proceedings, including which documents are required to establish a prima facie case. The seminar also discussed the impact of the November elections, the City’s new rental assistance program, the
importance of predicate notices, the subject of Airbnb type cases, owner occupancy cases, non-primary residence cases, failure to sign renewal leases and negotiating buyout agreements. Among those joining Mr. Dwork on the panel were Steven Banks, NYC Human Resources Administration; Howard Stern, RSA; Joseph Strasburg, RSA; and Gilbert Taylor, NYC Department of Homeless Services.
