Social Responsibility

Rosenberg & Estis maintains an ongoing commitment to charitable work through programs that give back to the youth in New York. As an advocate for the YMCA of Greater New York, R&E annually hosts teen interns through YMCA’s Teen Career Connection Summer Internship Program, which provides teens from low-income communities with the opportunity to work in professional environments and gain access to career training. We also welcome high-need students as interns through the PENCIL Fellows Program.

R&E supports additional programs that directly supply thousands of children living in New York City homeless and domestic violence shelters with school supplies and holiday toys, including Operation Backpack, sponsored by Volunteers of America Greater New York, and Winter Wishes, sponsored by New York Cares.

A Greener New York

In 2019, R&E was recognized by the New York City Bar’s Environmental Law Committee for our efforts in reducing our environmental footprint. The Firm’s recent participation in New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s Commercial Tenant Program is a testament to our commitment to reducing energy consumption, making the business case for energy efficient workspaces and setting the example for other law firms to follow.

The Terrace Experience

Whether it’s an afternoon lunch or a coffee to start the workday, we love any reason to spend time on our 12th-floor terrace. When weather permits, R&E attorneys gather bimonthly for appetizers and drinks during a time we call “Thursdays on Third.” The terrace is also where both attorneys and staff enjoy Summer Morning Yoga classes, along with annual Shake Shack Lunches, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Parties and celebratory dinners following our yearly Corporate Challenge 5k in Central Park.

As a summer associate, you will have the opportunity to work in different areas of law, learn and strengthen lawyering skills, and gain insight into the firm and how it serves its clients.

We bring that experience, along with sound business judgment, to every project we engage. Our training and mentoring programs aim to help associates gain the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the world of New York real estate.

Collaboration and Feedback

To ensure personalized attention and support, summer associates are paired with senior attorney mentors. We believe this is essential to building a social network which will aid you in your success and development.

The R&E Experience

Summer associates gain experience comparable to that of junior associates, including attending client meetings, site/property visits and assisting senior attorneys in addressing client needs. As a summer associate, you’ll work side-by-side with our market-leading attorneys at client meetings, negotiation sessions, closings, court appearances and depositions.

The Rosenberg & Estis culture welcomes and values the unique qualities that come with all of its attorneys, whether they began their careers at R&E or came to us after many years of experience at other firms.

At R&E, we take our work seriously but we also value work life balance and enjoying what we do.  In addition to CLE’s, workshops and presentations that may be offered throughout the summer, R&E also offers a variety of fun and social activities in the office and around the city.

Adjusting to COVID-19

From the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, R&E has redoubled its efforts to ensure the health and wellbeing of its internal team. Both R&E staff and attorneys enjoy a series of virtual social gatherings, which has included wine & cheese tastings, bingo nights, raffle games and more.
