Jack J. Rose joined Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. in 2019 and is a member and leader of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Reorganization Department. 

Mr. Rose has three decades of experience in bankruptcy and distressed situations having been actively involved in many of the nation’s largest bankruptcies, representing landlords, tenants, lenders, financial institutions, domestic and foreign banks, acquirers, investors, debtors and creditors. His experience with distressed real estate and real-estate-owning entities in bankruptcy includes his representation of Olympia and York and VMS NHP in their chapter 11 bankruptcies.  Mr. Rose also has significant experience in international and cross-border insolvencies, restructurings and workouts.

Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Mr. Rose was a partner at the Law Offices of Jack J. Rose in Bronxville, where he represented investors, creditors, shareholders and debtors in connection with investments and restructurings. In addition, Mr. Rose has served as a mediator and court appointed Chief Restructuring Officer. Mr. Rose was previously with the firms of Ashurst LLP, White & Case, Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance) and Weil Gotshal and Manges.

  • In re Core Educational and Consulting Solutions, Inc. - represented foreign bank
  • In re Berau - represented interest holder in connection with a Chapter 15 case
  • In re Jefferson County - represented the largest non-agent bank in the Chapter 9 bankruptcy of Jefferson County
  • Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. - advise investment banks, funds and private equity firms in respect of claims against LBHI and its subsidiaries
  • Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. – advise investment vehicles in respect of claim asserted by or on behalf of Lehman Brother Holdings, Inc. or certain of its subsidiaries or affiliates
  • VMS Realty Partners - advised $9 billion company in multiple workouts and Chapter 11 cases in the restructuring and sale of various properties
  • Olympia & York - as debtor’s counsel advised the company during its Chapter 11 cases
  • Minisink Estates LLC - advised the company from pre bankruptcy through Chapter 11 in a Prenegotiated Chapter 11. Served as Chief Restructuring Officer in the company’s Chapter 11 case
  • Education – Advised a school in the restructuring of certain debt and obligations.
  • Hospitality - advised various acquirers in the acquisition of distressed hotel properties
  • US Automobile Manufacturer - represented in the acquisition of a controlling interest in state of the art engine technology from a foreign automobile and truck manufacturer valued at several billion dollars
  • Reliance Group Holdings - represented the Official Bank Committee in the Reliance Group Holdings, Inc. bankruptcy
  • Delta Airlines - Represented aircraft lenders and manufacturers in the Delta bankruptcy
  • Telecom Experience - represented South American telecom company in its restructuring
  • Continental Airlines - represented creditor in Continental bankruptcy
  • US Airways - represented aircraft lenders in the US Airways bankruptcy
  • United Airlines - represented holders of over $1 billion in aircraft investment in the United Airlines bankruptcy
  • R.H. Macy & Co. - represented debtor in its Chapter 11 cases
  • Eastern Airlines - represented debtor in its Chapter 11 cases
  • Advance Mining Systems - represented debtor manufacturer of mine equipment in Chapter 11
  • Long Term Capital Management - represented secured lender in respect of LTCM's insolvency
