Neil Underberg
Neil Underberg joined the firm on June 1, 2011, as a commercial real estate transactions partner, representing major developers and educational and charitable institutions in New York City and throughout the country in the acquisition and assemblage by means of fee acquisition, ground leasing and leasehold condominiums of large tracts and office buildings for the development of shopping centers, office buildings, hotels, and other commercial, educational projects and headquarters for major charitable institutions. He also has represented numerous landlords and large retail chains in their lease negotiations nationwide. Mr. Underberg is particularly experienced with complex layered real estate transactions.
Mr. Underberg is a member of the Association of the Bar of New York, the American Law Institute, and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He also is a member of the Cornell University Law Advisory Council and is director of the New York University Real Estate Institute. In addition, Mr. Underberg serves on the board of directors of Alexander's, Inc. Mr. Underberg received a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University in 1949 and a J.D. from Cornell University Law School in 1952. He received an LL.M from New York University in 1957.
